Welcome to the Reactive Bubbly Flows - Small Bubble Column Reactor Database
On this site you can find the measurement results of mass transfer and fluiddynamical behaviour in a bubble column reactor. The complete datasets connected to publications are freely available for any interested researcher.
In the reactor the mass transfer from gases into liquids was investigated with Two Tracer Laser Induced Fluorescence (2T-LIF).
For a better understanding of the transport mechanisms, conditioning
the reaction, a complete characterization of the flow within the bubble
column is necessary. For the bubble phase the Shadow Imaging technique combined with Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) was used in order to recognize the bubbles
and identify the bubble characteristics. For the liquid phase Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) was used to examine the surrounding hydrodynamics.
